ATEC stands for Aviation Technician Education Council. It is an organization of Federal Aviation Administration approved Aviation Maintenance Technician schools and supporting industries in the Western Region. ATEC was founded in 1961 to further the standing of FAA approved schools with education and industry, and to promote mutually beneficial relations with all industry and governmental agencies.
